Conversation About The Match

Who’s going to win? Who’s winning? Who won? What were they thinking? What are you thinking? |

Rafe’s Guide to Judging Layer Tennis. Pretty good overview I think. |

I’m going to be out-and-about in Vicksburg, Mississippi today—we’ll see how well this crazy cell-”broadband” card works. |

Good luck, Fuzzy! |

HERE’S TODAY’S IN-FORUM COMPETITION Each week we do an oddball contest here in the forums to help pass the time between volleys. This week compose a limerick (you know, “There once was a man from Nantucket…”) about the match and post here in this forum before a winner is declared today. We’ll choose one that we like best and will give the creator $200 to spend in our Gifted Holiday Collection. |

Cool. A contest I can participate in. It wouldn’t go over so well to run around this office with a digital camera. @Coudal: Nice job extending the matches beyond Photoshop. Although I’ve been away from the live matches for a few weeks, it’s still good, even watching the replay. |

thanks Essbee, who knows what’ll happen today but the guys are ready… |
Wow. I’ve been checkin’ out these guys’ work, and this is going to be miraculous if they can bring it together in 15 minutes! |

Hi, peanuts, glad to be back in here this week. : ) Last night at the CP holiday party, it was brought to my attention that I mentioned “cumquats” in my commentary last week, and I had absolutely no recollection of what I said or why I would have even said that word. I guess i should go back and read what I wrote someday. Good luck to Bran and Jason, but especially to Matt, now that I know what it’s like. |
Nice audio! |
@Bryan: You def. set the bar high with your commentary last week. Cumquats or not, it was very entertaining! |
The serve was less than I was expecting, to be honest. |
Audio? Man, this crappy Dell machine I’m on doesn’t do fancy stuff like audio! |
Ignoring the overused tennis metaphor, I like the ball integrating with the baseline. Though on the right-hand side, the ball’s stripe doesn’t quite match up with the court’s line. |
the background is a little flat, but that ball is cute as the dickens. i think we’re in for it this week. pops giggles and claps |
@ Bryan: last week you were totally off the hook! |
That’s it. It’s over. No one can top that. Call the match. Bran wins. |

Nice. |

Wait a minute… are magical tennis balls allowed. I mean other than the toe tapping kind? This could get tricky. |
Quick forum poll: how old is the computer you’re trying to watch layer tennis on? p.s. Any chance the video will be iPhone-able? |

crazy camera work, blazing sunshine and a pretty decent serve too boot. continuing the whole tennis theme is interesting and i’m amazed at how these folks can produce animations so quickly. and i thought I typed fast. |
