HERE’S TODAY’S IN-FORUM COMPETITION Each week we do an oddball contest here in the forums to help pass the time between volleys. This week compose a limerick (you know, “There once was a man from Nantucket…”) about the match and post here in this forum before a winner is declared today. We’ll choose one that we like best and will give the creator $200 to spend in our Gifted Holiday Collection.

Although I’ve been away from the live matches for a few weeks, it’s still good, even watching the replay.

Wow. I’ve been checkin’ out these guys’ work, and this is going to be miraculous if they can bring it together in 15 minutes!
This is exactly what Layer Tennis is all about… Changing it up and trying new stuff, pushing the limites of design just to see what’s possible when talented people are set loose with no restraints but time… I’m already on the edge of my seat, and they haven’t even posted the opening volley!

Last night at the CP holiday party, it was brought to my attention that I mentioned “cumquats” in my commentary last week, and I had absolutely no recollection of what I said or why I would have even said that word. I guess i should go back and read what I wrote someday. Good luck to Bran and Jason, but especially to Matt, now that I know what it’s like.

The serve was less than I was expecting, to be honest.

Audio? Man, this crappy Dell machine I’m on doesn’t do fancy stuff like audio!

Ignoring the overused tennis metaphor, I like the ball integrating with the baseline. Though on the right-hand side, the ball’s stripe doesn’t quite match up with the court’s line.

the background is a little flat, but that ball is cute as the dickens. i think we’re in for it this week. pops giggles and claps

crazy camera work, blazing sunshine and a pretty decent serve too boot. continuing the whole tennis theme is interesting and i’m amazed at how these folks can produce animations so quickly. and i thought I typed fast.
