Who’s going to win? Who’s winning? Who won? What were they thinking? What are you thinking? |

Wicked write up on the preview. I loved the first match, but I am especially looking forward to this special edition for my browser to be haunted by. Good luck, Stan! [EDIT] Uhm… well… ok, I just realized that Brian is the genius behind Rustboy. Sorry, JSM, you are in for one hell of a match. This won’t end well for one of these combatants, of that I am sure.[/EDIT] |

Alas, I am going to be attending a haunted dinner, and search for EVPs, at the Snow Hill Country Club during the match; but I will be here in spirit to cheer on both contestants. I can’t wait to see the results! I dig the graphic style of Brian – reminds of what Disney and Looney Tunes could have put out in the early days if they were just a bit more sadistic. (insert ten minute pause here to surf the net after checking out Jason’s site some more and the myriad links therein)... I really enjoy his photographic style – it’s what I aspire to when I shoot: the angles and depth of field are just great. Oh, and his typework is totally groovy. For anyone who does not already know, our esteemed commentator, Mathew, is friggin hilarious! |

^ uh… what? @AZ Focus Guy: EVP scares me. Really. Movie was stupid. Real thing just freaks me way the ef out, though. |

Here’s today’s Forum Competition. In honor of today’s horror theme, whoever sends the scariest fax to 312 243 1108 while the match is going on will receive $200 to spend in our Swap Meat. |
mee so excited.. ^^ |
Personally, I’m hoping for some good ol pumpkin carnage! |
@tamashii: agreed, movie = lameness, but I am kinda freaked out about tonight. Oh well, nothing a martini or four can’t get me through. =) |
@AZ Focus Guy: Agreed re Defective Yeti, but I just hope today’s match doesn’t move as slow as Baldwin posting a Cliche Rotation Project update. |
While you’re waiting for the match, read an article from NY Times by Wendell Jamieson. Joy of Fright: Old Chillers That Should Scare (but Not Terrorize) the Kids. “When you are alone with the bad guy, and he is pouring you a drink, and he asks if anyone knows that you came to meet him, you always answer: ‘Yes, yes. Everyone knows! I told everyone I know that I was coming! Totally.’ ” VR/ |

Note on today’s Forum Competition. In answer to an emailed question from Nick, we don’t know what exactly makes for a scary fax but we’re betting we’ll know one when we see one. |
Scary fax huh? I have some old MS Word clipart around here that’s kinda horrific… |
Ooh…preparing my fax now. This’ll be the first contest I’ve been able to enter (not counting my sockless tube socks). |
how will you know who the faxes are from? i mean, whatever horror comes across your machine might lose a bit of its frightfulness with, “Hey! I’m tamashii on the forums! BOO!” at the bottom. |
tamashii: I was just thinking the same thing as I appended my forum name and email address on the page. Weakens it, definitely. |
@AZ Focus Guy: Hey, let me know if you come across anything. I’m the editor over at Paranormal Insider, and we’d love to get some reader submissions. |
Do we get to see scary fax submissions? |
At the end of the match, I will post my entry. I think that is the best way to do it. |
Mark, I was considering posting a url to mine, but I’m not sure if the reasoning for the fax includes “not letting others see your submission” along with the obvious, “because it’s cool.” |
@tamashii, agreed here… probably the best thing to do |
Warming up my fax machine and reply button. Guys, this kicks ass. It’s like Photoshop Phridays after snorting a few lines of Picasso’s ashes. |
good call, tamashii. I’ll do the same. |
I assume the fine folks at Coudal will also record the numbers as entries are received. This is a good idea ;) |
