I agree. This was a fine match of JPEG Tennis, but violates nearly every spirit of the Layer Tennis I’ve come to love. Enjoyable, to be sure, but this isn’t what we came here for.

Fantastic work from both artists. Inman showed hints of a warm, organic side I usually miss from him. But I have to give my nod to Cornell overall. The control, the stamina, and the versatility were all his.

I agree with JSM. The reuse is more of a constraint to be handled with a flourish than a crutch to be wielded in haste. Volley 9 reunites a number of the past visual motifs while continuing to push the narrative in a new and unexpected direction. I for one am in awe. Let the bloodbath begin!
