Topic: Chris Glass vs Naz Hamid 10/19 / Conversation About The Match

What a joy, thanks, Chris & Naz.

My vote goes for Chris Glass, but I’m a chump, so what do I know.

- I used not one, but two default filters/effects in my last submission. But I already said earlier in thread that I was sick, so let’s just call it a moment of weakness.

Something I was working on before I realized I got the necessary permits:

I had an idea for the competition until I realized the directions specify taped up. Any leeway on that front?

WRT the match: The little birdie is a win.

True words just shouted from my couch, where I have been a recluse all day, trying to tweak data whilst ill: Shit! Layer Tennis!

Hopefully the competition and some ginger ale will nurse me back to greener pastures. Loving the photography so far and the narrative.

ION: WTG, tamashii! :D

Topic: Steven Harrington vs Chuck Anderson 10/12 / October 12th Match Remixes

Impressive remix, BK! Really true to the style SH put other there in the match.

& I love how Greatmiddlewest completely repurposed elements from the files (eg, the lake and running water). I would love to see more of this style of tweaking in the actual matches.

I really like your remix, slodwick:

1. Yay, it introduced type!
2. The wisps of cold air are very attractive.
3. The clouds win again: setting the clouds to look like they’re being blown about is such a simple thing, but it wins.

This looks like fun and I may have to give it a go after I catch up on the work I was supposed to be doing from 3-5 yesterday :D

Overall, way better than last week, and a close match. As sir timbly recommended, I went back and looked at all the game pieces in a variety of ways and just came to the conclusion that I preferred the pieces introduced by SH. Excellent match, though, showing thought and humour.

My favorite details thus far are the previously mentioned cardboard cutout cloud and, in Harrington’s last volley, the halftone shadows behind the hands.

@brendanb: Man, I would have been pissed if I had posted my socks and the next volley included a unicorn! :D

I’m embarrassed that I’m paying attention, but tamashii—are you changing socks? They were red in your first photo?

@fuzzy—I had just dug my socks out from storage (livin’ in near-tropical climes here and October is not tube sock weather), when I saw your original link. How’s a girl supposed to compete when a playmate is brought into the mix so early in the match? ;P

re: match—Last volley got an audible “holy crap” when it loaded on my screen. I am lovin’ it. No clear winners/leaders yet, but lots of great trash talkin’.

Blissful ending. Couscous gets the win just for getting rid of those upside down smiles and making no attempt to build upon their hideousness.

Fer realz, though: No one’s still in Duerden’s court, right?

@Plasticmind, if you’re coming across as absolutist, I must sound dogmatic.

Despite a beautiful new image, I feel V7 confirms players are talking to themselves, not each other. In comparison to last week, I feel like there have been no surprises after the serve.

Seeing volley 5, I want to shake my screen like an etch-a-sketch. I liked the energy/chaos/details of everything that came before, but there’s nothing left in this volley that I like.
