Heather’s commentary would bother me if I disagreed with her. What makes me a bit sad is that volley number 2 was incredibly well played. It was a beautiful twist on her serve, included some appropriate and witty text, and left me drooling to see his remaining shots.

To me, number 8 doesn’t hold a candle to number 2, or volleys 3 through 7 from Marian.

I feel like the beautiful thing about Marian’s play so far has been her ability to incorporate the themes both have introduced while driving home her point. Armin’s volleys have been witty, but he’s not done such a good job of creating cohesive designs with his own stuff plus what Marian’s brought to the table.

Plus her designs make me say, “Damn, how can you do that in 15 minutes?”

What I like about #5 is the subtle incorporation of shots #2 and #4 in the little boxes to go along with her continuation of her own battle of the sexes theme.

Looks like Marian is refusing to make the requested turn. Elegant return shot, I think. I predict a “trash it and start over” return from Armin. #5 will be tough to play gracefully.
