Topic: Steven Harrington vs Chuck Anderson 10/12 / Conversation About The Match Nice commentary by Mr. Kottke… I love the reference to Adolf Wolflii. Maybe there will appear some similar meta-narrative maps. Are the horizontal lines a staff of future musical notation? |

Topic: Neil Duerden vs. Mathew Star Thomas 10/5 / Conversation about the match bravo! stole my heart with this one! The hat flies down to cap this off and the lady bird beetle gets to charge with the black horse of victory! Peace, indeed; if only we as a people could solve our own battle for peace in such a loving, heartfelt way. |

Topic: Neil Duerden vs. Mathew Star Thomas 10/5 / Conversation about the match My feeling is that it is not only a lame font choice, but a weak answer. I would have liked to be rid of the awkward torso, not merely “covering it up,” blushing, with a prudish, girlish twinkle or zap. the animals have lost the plot. illustrations are the only savior of this one for me. #8 get’s a backwards-facing trucker-hat… back to work. I’d thought it was all sown up for CousCous but now I can’t see any signs of a clear win. |

Topic: Shaun Inman vs. Kevin Cornell 9/28 / Conversation About Today's Match I think that Shaun jumped the shark with his return to his previous Summer Solstice design; whereas Kevin very naturally returned to motifs that he had set down throughout the match, without merely resorting to default filters. ~ R4 Chumps |

Topic: Shaun Inman vs. Kevin Cornell 9/28 / Conversation About Today's Match Disappointing fourth volley. “A tool is a tool” is a harsh call when it comes to a discussion of default filters. Are four chumps, in a game of doubles, to lob a soft return when served with such deftness? I would say Kevin’s redux dexterity isn’t merely a lob. I read an applicable quote in the book Abstracting Craft. Speaking of tennis, pagan rituals and other incunabula, Jan Tschichold said it best, “Rückstellung Filter sind für Holzklötze”. |
